盡管夏日刺眼，令人昏昏欲睡、汗流浹背、頭痛作嘔……熱愛夏日長仍大有人在，可是他們真正喜愛的未必是陽光，而是躲進冷氣房內蒙頭大睡、吃雪糕甚至打邊爐，城市人遠離大自然，自我封閉在人造環境之內成為習慣，摩天大廈沒有新鮮空氣被認為是「先進」呢。

The diary of Angelina Jolie, a new documentary special on the poverty crisis in Africa, is headed to MTV this September 14 as part of MTV's new pro-social initiative "think MTV."

「新城國語力頒獎禮」于八月五日晚隆重舉行，劉德華如賽前所料獨占五個獎項，至于女歌手方面則以「過江龍」蔡依林獨得四獎最為突出，成為當晚的男女大贏家。
Metro Show Biz Mandarin Ceremony took place on August 5. Andy Lau got five awards while Jolin Tsai got four awards. They became the big winners that night.

泰國首屆國際時裝周

8月17日至21日在泰國舉行的2005曼谷時裝周，是該國首次舉辦的國際性時裝盛事，泰國政府更動用了4,500萬美元作活動經費，支持泰國發展成地區的時裝中心，與香港等地競爭。
Recently, the Thai government has allocated a budget of USD45 million to launch the country's first international fashion show Bangkok Fashion Week 2005 which was held August 17-21.
